countdown!

Well, we are now under 100 days!

Lea and I have been waiting to get to that point for a LONG time...more than 100 days actually! In other words, we are over halfway there. To be exact, it has been 136 days since we got engaged and, as you can see from the picture, there are 95 to go. What can I say, I'm excited.

Lea and I did some FUN stuff this weekend!! I'm not sure if we are talking about it yet or not... are we sweetie?

Now, I have probably created some suspense for those of you reading... or maybe not. Oh well.

So this picture that you see below is now on my desktop, but by clicking a little link I can change the picture, it's pretty cool actually, and I can watch the hours tick away until I get to marry my best friend!

Tuxedos (and so much more...)

James and I are looking at Tuxedos today. I am really excited about this because I get to choose different styles and fashions for him to try on. I was looking at the AfterHours Formalwear website this morning (this is the brother of David's Bridal), and I found lots of great looking tuxedos and vests. I found two different colors of vests, celadon and lilac. Hopefully James and his groomsmen won't mind wearing purple if I like the lilac better. You see, this will be so fun because I get to dress James up and I don't have to try on a thing!!!! While wedding dress shopping and wedding planning has been a wonderful experience (primarily because of its ultimate result!!), I get to be the spectator/observer/commentator today!!!

PS Have I mentioned lately how much I love James? We were just talking last night about how crazy it is that we found each other, how I moved here from Nebraska (a place which makes most people think of only corn and cows) and he from Arizona. And I told him that in my mind I had definite plans to move to AZ for one year only, then to move back home. God, thank you for not only providing day to day, but also for your amazing GRACE over our lives!!

Save the date!

Save the date letters and magnets are on the way! Want to see what it looks like? Here it is...

Wanna know what my Uncle said - he got his today, and left me a message:
"Hey James, it's Unk. Got your magnet, but uh, we want to see her face not yours, you doofus. Fix that, would ya! Later."
I can't say I blame him. Poor Lea, everytime we go to dinner, I get the good view! :-)

If you haven't noticed yet - we put some wedding info on the site. Here it is.

just a quick one

Lea is so sweet, so beautiful, so wonderful. I love her sooooo much. I just get happy being around her, I love talking to her about my day, hearing about stuff with her day, her work, her friends.

Last night we went to dinner and I think the waitress was probably embarrassed to interrupt us, because pretty much whenever she came by we were holding hands and looking in each other's eyes.

Ahhhhhhhh (*contented sigh*)

she helps me dream

Ok, so here's the deal

There was something that I've been thinking about on and off for probably at least a year. Just an area of ministry that I would like to be more involved in at church (and have been in the past at my church in college).

But because of insecurity (which I decided is really another form of pride), I haven't really expressed that desire to anyone at the church that could actually do anything about it. I think it was kind of like, "well, if I don't ask them, they can't say no." I know...I'm 12 years old.

So anyway, Lea and I were talking while eating dinner on Monday (incidentally, we were eating this REALLY REALLY good dinner that Lea made for us - she is SUCH a good cook, everything she makes is awesome. Kim - you are probably partially to thank for that, so thank you too!), and I told her about this area of ministry and my desires. She listened to my thoughts, fears, and hopes, and then told me how she believed in me and talked to me about how God has gifted me, and basically just came alongside me and pointed me toward truth and encouraged me to pursue those desires God has given me, etc.

As a result, I sent an email the next day to a couple people at church, just explaining my idea, and sharing my heart about being involved with it. I was excited to send it after talking to Lea - her encouragement just inspires me.

What an amazing woman, what a friend, and what a love.

All my love...

I have been learning so much about James in the past eight months...what is important to him, what he values, what he believes, what he desires for his/our future, etc. And learning all of this has made me realize what an incredible man he is. He is a man of conviction and strong character. His passion for God and his committment to us overwhelms me. He has an amazing amount of patience with me and he treats me like a queen. He works hard to make our relationship work and I couldn't thank him enough! I can't imagine being anywhere else but with him for the rest of our lives!!

Jay Jay, you have all my love!!

the Ocho

What do these have in common:
  • The atomic number of oxygen.
  • In physics, it is the second magic number.
  • In baseball, it represents the center fielder's position.
  • It is a composite number, its proper divisors being 1, 2, and 4. It is a power of two, being two cubed.
  • The base of the octal number system, which is mostly used with computers.
  • The natural number following 7 and preceding 9.

That's right - they are all descriptors of 8. (thanks to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8_(number)).

So why all this talk of 8? Because today is our 8-month anniversary.

Ya know, it's funny, because I am generally a very open person, but some things, more and more, I like to just tell Lea, or certainly tell her first. Particularly if they are important things. Those of you that read my blog too know there is all sorts of stuff on there, but lots of it is really random and not very important! Anyway, I say that because I'm having trouble deciding what to put on this blog today.... Ok, here we go.

Lea is really fun to be silly with. Yesterday we were making up little one-act plays. VERY short - about 15 seconds each, but they were funny! And we were dancing in the car to Will Smith on the way to home group. I'm learning to just "let loose" when it comes to dancing, right Lea? Cause apparently I'm much better (and more funny) when I just do whatever comes to mind on the dance floor. Lea says that when I do that I am really funny... which, you may point out, indicates that I am such a bad dancer that the best I can hope for is to make people laugh at my feeble attempts at artistic movement! :-) But I'm ok with that. hehe

I love you Lea - happy anniversary gorgeous!
