good drive to work

My wife (that's Lea for those of you still waking up this morning!) is so wonderful, encouraging, supportive, beautiful, and just all-around GREAT!!

I was driving to work this morning just enjoying that I am married to the world's most special woman, and I decided to share this information with the world! :-)

I love you Lea!

Roses at Work

My husband is sick today. He barely got any sleep last night, poor guy.

But can you believe it!!? He drove all the way up to Scottsdale (during heavy traffic might I add) and brought me a big beautiful bouquet of pink roses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is so good to me.

You made my day honny, I love you!

ouch...but good!

So, we had a pipe break outside our house this weekend...we were leaving and noticed some water - kind of a lot actually - that was "congregating" outside the house. Or loitering, perhaps?

Anyway - not good! So we shut of the main line to the house and started the process of calling for a plumber. Maybe this is because it was Super Bowl weekend, but finding a plumber for the weekend seemed a bit challenging. We ended up getting a guy that could come out on Monday - nice guy, actually lives across the street from my parents so I got to see his Len Munsil and George Bush stickers on his truck, which made me trust him! He told me it was probably a crack where the PVC pipe met the copper pipe a few feet from the house, and he speculated that it might run $300-400 to fix. YIKES!

Sooooooo, we enlisted Grandpa Vic! Actually, Grandpa volunteered himself :-). He is a very handy guy and was pretty sure we could do it ourselves. (Translation: I could dig and he could fix! He was the brains in this operation; well, actually, he did a lot of sprawling out on the ground, reaching into the hole, some digging etc, as well. Come to think of it...I'm not sure he even needed me!)

So Sunday morning at about 9:30 a.m. I went outside and started digging. Lea came out after a while to cheer on my progress and pretty much right after she came out, I found the pipe - and the leak! She's good luck!! The plumber was right - the leak was on the seal where PVC met copper.

Grandpa came at about 10:30, we cut out the bad pipe out, went to Home Depot, spend $6 on parts, came back and finished putting it together by 12:30 or so. No more leak, water pressure good, $300-400 saved!!

Lea made sandwiches for us, brought us drinks, chips and dip, came out and told us we were doing good, and was all-around wonderful! When I was putting dirt back in the hole, she brought me cold washcloths to put on my head (I started getting a bit overheated), put sunscreen on me, and was sooooooo sweet and encouraging. I loved it!

THE END
